Light: Like most orchids, these phalaenopsis need bright, indirect light to produce blooms. Rotate your orchid from time to time to keep its growth even.
Water: This plant has a lower tolerance for drought. During the growing season, water the orchid weekly or whenever its exposed roots turn silvery white with filtered water or ice cubes. Be sure the plant has drained completely. Water should never be allowed to rest around the stem of the plant, this will cause the roots, stems, or leaves to rot.
Soil & Containers: In native conditions, orchids grow on trees. To mimic these conditions, potted orchids are often grown in a medium made from fir bark chips. You can also buy a commercial potting mix that is made especially for orchids, but these plants need plenty of air circulation around their root system, and won't thrive in standard potting soil.
Fertilizer: During the growing season, fertilize your orchid ever third or fourth week. Skip feeding during fall, winter, and spring.
Temperature and Humidity: Phalaenopsis prefers temperatures between 23-29°C, but can adapt to 18-23°C.
Toxicity: Non-toxic to dogs, cats, and humans.
